Has anyone here used Ovation shampoo or their hair products?

I keep hearing about them on the radio.Has anyone here used Ovation shampoo or their hair products?
I highly recommend it. Being from San Diego, I've heard about Ovation quite a bit. Its made by a local company in Vista California and I use it religiously.( It's so worth the money.)

I saw my hair, which was colored and fryed from my straightener transform into a shiny, healthy Pantene looking commercial head of hair in about 4 months of use. No bull*^%#! It is a bit pricey, but who doesn't think having a beautiful head of hair is priceless?Has anyone here used Ovation shampoo or their hair products?

What is the best professional shampoo to use with hard water?

There is a Malibu shampoo out. I'm not sure how long it has been out, but I just found out about it. Someone I know is using it and she has REALLY hard water. Her hair is normally rusty and now that she is using the shampoo it is so much lighter and looks great. She got it at the beautician.

Good luck! What is the best professional shampoo to use with hard water?

  • What are some good no-shampoo methods for washing your hair?

I've seen a huge variety of ideas from baking soda/cider vinegar to egg whites %26amp; olive oil.

What methods have you heard of or used for washing your hair without using a traditional shampoo with detergents?

I have tried, and really liked, the Wen line of conditioning cleansers but I find them too expensive http://www.thegourmetbody.com/.

I'm looking for a suitable alternative that doesn't cost quite so much. What are some good no-shampoo methods for washing your hair?
Look to nature! You can buy common grocery store items that contain lactic acid, glycolic acid or citric acid. They will cut oils and cleanse naturally. Glycolic acid is found in honey, table sugar and hard alcohol such as vodka. Sugar also works as an abrasive to help scrub away dirt and oil. Citric acid is found in oranges, lemons, ETC. and lactic acid is found in natural yogurt, buttermilk, ETC. You can also use olive oil and capsules of vitamin E to nourish hair. You can mix them in a blender and use them fresh, or make a bigger batch that lasts in the fridge for about a week.

*Shampoo-mix 1/2 cup sugar and plain natural yogurt. Add a spoon full each of fresh lemon juice and apple cider vinegar.

*Conditioner-one blended avocadoand one raw egg(for protine if you arent vegan) a splash of buttermilk, and one capsule of vitamine E (or a few drops of olive oil)blended.

*Facial/body scrub scrub-equal parts honey and sugar, a little citrus juice and 1/2 vita mine E capsule. (makes your skin super soft)

    * Natural face astrengent- equal parts alochol/half lemon juice/apple cider vinegar.

-Apple cider vinegar is also great for hair and skin. It has alpha-hydroxy acids that helping to dissolve oils without drying you out. It restores PH balance so its good for fighting dandruf. It is also antiseptic, combating yeasts, viruses and bacteria that can cause infection. Add a little to any of the above recipies(its potent).

I know it sounds weird but it works and at least this way, you know its all natural, chemical free, vegan, and all around good for you. Probably cheaper than expensive salon shampoo too. What are some good no-shampoo methods for washing your hair?
Using baking soda and apple cider vinegar is a good alternative...vinegar is healthy for the hair and gives it nice shine and the apple part makes it not smell as bad as regular vinegar. If you use baking soda and water beforehand and scrub on the scalp then rinse, it will get rid of the dirt/oil and then use the vinegar in place of the conditioner as it helps to close up the cuticle and smooth down the hair.
Regular cheap conditioner works just as well (if not better) than Wen.

Suave and VO5 conditioners work great.
    mayo

it makes your hair shinny and thicker

but only keep it in for a while if you leave it in to long you're hair will smell bad.

5 mins at the most i think.
reg soap.. or to save money you could use reg shampoo and wehn your hair starts to get greasy just sprinkle some baby powder and shake it around. it absorbs the grease.

I'd say Herbal Essence or Biolage. Biolage smells really awesome and works great on hair. Herbal Essence probably smells better, but it doesn't work as well on hair. And I really like the frizz bottle of Herbal Essence too! What is the best smelling shampoo you've ever used?
anna sui shampoo is the best smelling shampoo i've ever used.

another one is tsubaki - by shiseido, that smells really good too, just like camellias.

i agree herbal essences shampoo smells good too, the one in the blue bottle is probably the best smelling one out of the collection.
I really like the herbal essances one too, but im sick of their smells. But out of all of them i like the totally twisted [purple bottle] and good smelling ones, that i can't think of at the moment..

What is the best curling shampoo?

I want to get my hair curly but in a simple way so what shampoo should i use? What is the best curling shampoo?
there is a product a vailable in Hungary. My sister washed her hair and become very curly. It is a nature's product, basic ingredient is Nettle, or stinging Nettle.

She washed first, her hair become slightly bouncy, but after reading the instruction to leave it on for 10 minutes, she rewashed, and had a head full of curls. When sweats, around the temple get little, almost kinky curls.

I will ask her to send me this product. What is the best curling shampoo?
Boil tealeaves and apply the decoction. Then curl your hair.

Do you know of a shampoo for dandruff hair, besides head and shoulders?

I use head and shoulders, but it leaves residue in my hair..do you know of another shampoo that would work? i heard paul mitchell's tea tree shampoo works.

I do use lemon juice, but then it feels different through out the day when i use it.

Do you have any suggestions?Do you know of a shampoo for dandruff hair, besides head and shoulders?
    Selcan Blue

I didn't spell it right, but it comes in a blue bottle, it's pretty good stuff you can get at Walmart for around $6. My sister said that it really works, I didn't try it though, good luck! :)Do you know of a shampoo for dandruff hair, besides head and shoulders?
Pep R Mint from Nexxus or Dr. Miracles Feel it formula comes in brown packaging.
theres 1 i know but i really forget the name of the shampoo.. but as of now, try to clean your scalp with oil using cotton balls...then try another brand of shampoo because the 1 your using maybe is not good for you..then wash your hair with cold water because hot water causes daindruff.
Selman blue i think is how you spell it or when you use head and shoulder will you in the shower get a brush and scrub it while you have the shampoo in my mom said that really works! Hope this helps!!
If your dandruff is excessive, and continuously comes back, Sally's Beauty Supply has several dandruff shampoo that work extremely well, Make sure that you get one that has 'tar' in its ingredients, and you will want to follow it up with their recommended conditioner. Those type shampoos works well whether or not you have 'oily' or 'dry' dandruff. Good luck.
    T-Gel is good for dandruff.
There are many shampoo's with Tar in them. It is best to talk to your pharmacist, doctor or dermatologist since mold of a fungus can also cause dandruff as can ailments suck as shingles, dermatitis, eczema, psoriasis, etc.
    I would suggest:

  • Can you use regular people shampoo for dogs?

My mom says that there fur falls off but my best friend says that if you wash it off really good there fur doesnt fall off...which one is true?

is it even true? Can you use regular people shampoo for dogs?
No, do not use human shampoo on dogs. It will dry out their skin and make their coat look horrible. Stick with dog shampoo. Can you use regular people shampoo for dogs?
Shampoos meant for people should not really be used for dogs. Their fur will probably not fall out, but their skin could easily be irritated so it is best to use a special shampoo. They are designed to suit the coat, and the skin of dogs. Dogs should not need to be bathed too often unless they get really dirty, as too much shampooing, even the right stuff, can take the natural oils out of their coats. If they are well groomed every day, they should be just fine most of the time. They don't get sweaty the way people do, so brushing to get rid of dust and so on is fine for them.
We've always washed our dogs with people shampoo and never had any issues. The only thing that's ever happened is, because our last husky had an extremely thick undercoat, she would get itchy if we didn't wash it out well enough, but that would probably be the case even with dog shampoo. And considering our German Shepherd just went to the vet last week and the vet even complimented how nice his coat looked, I don't believe all the above posts one bit.
In Brazil, many people wash their dogs with regular people shampoo. The fur will fall even you wash with shampoo for dogs. I have 4 dogs and I wash them with shampoo for dogs, but the fur still falls.

I guess you can not wash the dog every day with that. If you do that sometimes, there is no problem.

Sorry, mate, if my english is not good enough. I am brazilian and I'm trying to improve my english skills.
I use both dog shampoo and human shampoo on my dogs. No problems whatsoever and their coat looks absolutely fine.

    Your dog won't die.

Your dog's hair won't fall off.

It's probably not as good as dog shampoo, but it's never hurt my dogs.

BUT, my dog's are both short-haired... I'm not sure if it'd be different with long-haired dogs or not...
Well...your mom is right. People shampoo has a different ph level and is bad for a dog's sensitive skin. The only exception is Main N Tail which was originally made for pets in the first place.

however dog shampoo doesn't harm a person's head and can actually be used every day on a person.
If you're not careful with what you use, you can potentially create an allergic reaction on your dog or dry out his skin and make him itchy and uncomfortable. Consult your vet and ask them what people shampoo can be used on your dog. My aunt uses Johnson's tearfree baby shampoo on her two Bichons per her vet's advice because they have sensitive skin but you cannot just simply use any old shampoo you have kicking around in your shower. You would need to buy a specific kind that gets your vets approval so your best bet is to go out and buy a dog-specific shampoo.

What you'll save in money on shampoo by using cheap stuff now, you'll end up paying more on vet bills for skin irritation. Not worth it!

FYI, so far this is my favorite stuff for my dog:

    http://www.jefferspet.com/ssc/product.as鈥?/a>

It has a clean scent and really does a good job making her coat look and feel good and its VERY gentle -- its hypo-allergenic! :)
you can but it's not recomended. if it's a money issue the 99 cents only stores also sell dog shampoo that is just fine.
NO Please do NOT use any human products on dogs.

Dogs are always going to shed. If you brush them regularly you can better control shedding.

Don't bathe your dog more than once or twice a month.
I wouldn't know because I don't have a dog, but I wouldn't imagine regular shampoo would hurt him.
their fur wont fall off but it really isnt recommended. people shampoo is a little too harsh for dogs and tends to dry out their skn and coat. stick to dog shampoo
NO!! their Ph is different from humans and its bad for their skin. Use the pet shampoo, it will keep your dog from being miserable and itchy.
ABSOLUTELY NOT! MY DAD ONCE HAD A DOG AND USED PEOPLE SHAMPOO ON HIS DOG, AND IT DRIED OUT THE SKIN SO BAD THAT THE DOG DIED!!! PLEASE, BUY DOG SHAMPOO!!!!!
Really people shampoo is likely to dry out or irritate your dogs skin but they will not go balled or explode. I even use baby shampoo on puppies
We have a german shepherd and we use both. Ppl shampoo doesn't hurt them, but it is better to use dog shampoo.
What the first answer said!! It's just a bad idea all around to use people shampoo on any animal!
NO because the chemicals in human shampoo is very different than one for dogs.
No you can't use ppl shampoo on dogs.
Absolutely NO!!! that is very bad for their skin. Dog shampoo is cheap and you won't have to worry about skin problems.
    no only dog shampoo!!
Instant death. Dogs are nothing like humans, how dare you even think that!!
it doesn't fall off but its bad for them, but dog shampoo isn't expensive
fur wont fall off, but people shampoo will really dry out your dogs skin
    i wouldnt do it

Does pantene prov beautiful lengths shampoo and condtioner actually work?

It does for me but everyones hair is different so I don't know how yours will react to it,

I say just give it a go,

:DDoes pantene prov beautiful lengths shampoo and condtioner actually work?
I've tried both Pantene and Herbal Essences long hair shampoos, and I've been pretty unimpressed with the Pantene Beautiful Lengths shampoo. I've gone through almost the entire bottle of shampoo and conditioner, and my hair is not any softer, and it doesn't feel any stronger. On the contrary, it feels more brittle. I loved the way Herbal Essences made my hair feel, but I started having scalp problems after using it for a few weeks and had to switch. But everyone is different after all.

Don't count Aussie out! I've used it for years, and even though they don't have a long hair shampoo/conditioner (yet), it still makes my hair look great. I only changed it up to help with buildup. I plan on switching back when I get through the rest of this Pantene.

Good ratio for mixing your shampoo with your conditioner?

I love my shampoo and my conditioner, but using the two separately takes too much water for rinsing, and around here it's expensive and ecologically unsound.Good ratio for mixing your shampoo with your conditioner?
    Why don't you just buy a 2-in-1 shampoo/conditioner then?

The whole reason shampoo and conditioner were made separately is because they're supposed to be used separately. Mixing the two will either result in hair that is not clean enough, or hair that is not conditioned enough.

If you're really concerned, grab a large bucket, fill it with water, and rinse your hair in that.

  • How hard is it to shampoo your carpets......?

and does it come out looking good or is it not worth it? I live on the second floor of an apt complex so im wondering if its worth saving the money from hiring someone and just renting one that i can use myself? How hard is it to shampoo your carpets......?
    call Stanley Steamer!

They are okay! How hard is it to shampoo your carpets......?
Doing your carpets is a messy and grueling job, leave it to the professionals
Try calling your local Molly Maid. .they do a great job-they dont use water, they have a dry system %26amp; its not too expensive
It takes an expert, or else a new carpet if you mess it up.
You definitely will save money and it is not that difficult. Just follow the instructions. What we sometimes do is share the carpet cleaner with a friend or neighbor. That way you can do 2 carpets for the price of one. Although the rental of the machine is not that expensive. (around $30.00) for 24 hours)
    id rent
We bought a shampoo machine for 100 bucks at our local vacuum store. Cheaper than the major dept store. We have braided rugs in light mauves w/cream. They were ready to be thrown out after 1 year. Hubby cleaned them and they looked like new! We still have the rugs and have just recently replaced the cleaner. (still only about $100 now) That was over 10 years ago. Its not difficult and VERY worth it!
easy as PIE!! but buy the shampoo fit for a carpet shampoo'er... low suds!!

otherwise you'll end up with suds everywhere.

i clean my carpet all the time - and i even invested in my own shampoo'er.

good luck! don't sweat it! and YES it works!!

ps... add a cap full of pinesol in the water - it will leave a clean scent.
    i dunno
Its easy to do yourself if you rent (or own) the equipment. I'd definitely recommend it as it does produce visible results.
From past experience, I would hire someone. Shampooing your own carpets with a rental doesn't do that great of a job. Since you live in an apartment it will save your the time and it will look and smell better!
I think you can save if you hire someone to shampoo your carpet.Of course you can bargain to the cleaner how much you are going to pay him. If you think that you are paying more from shampooing your carpet, then better rent a new one.
My boyfriend and I inherited a Hoover brand steam vac from his parents that looks and operates like a stand up vaccum. It has been amazing on our carpets.

I lived in a brand new apartment complex once, and I spilled Hawaiian Punch on the floor. The vaccum got the OLD stain from bright red to a faint, faint red that was undedectable by the person who inspected my apartment.

The last place we stayed, the person who inspected my apartment noted that we had our carpets professionally cleaned even if we only used the Hoover.

If you can get your hands on one of those, then by all means do it yourself! I bought carpet cleaner from WalMart and did the entire two bedroom apartment in the same amount of time and effort it would take me to vaccum the house.
It's not hard to shampoo but I find the rentals a bit clumsy to use. I have used Stanley Steemer and found them to be very reasonable and I also have my own shampooer for spots and high traffic areas. Check the prices on both and then make a decision.
well, RugDoctors work very well, and i do suggest then. they are heavy and getting it into the 2nd floor of your apartment may be difficult. if you want to do it by yourself make sure you have an elevator. personally, if the cost of having osmeone come do it for you is cheap i would do it! hope it helps :]
look around in ads in the newspaper or phonebook...some carpet cleaners will do so many rooms for a certain price. i got 3 rooms and 2 hallways shampood for $50.

also, i think you can rent a shampooer at walmart for really cheap

it isnt hard to shampoo your carpets, vacuum your carpet first and get anything off the floor that can be moved. just use it like it was a vacuum, and set out some floor fans to help it dry
I'd just rent one. And they do work pretty well.

What is the best organic shampoo and conditioner for my hair? It's terrible! Please help! ?

Naturally, it is wavy underneath and sorta straight on the top. It gets frizzy too if i try to blow dry it. My genetic hair length is right below my shoulders and wont grow longer. It not easy to manage. What organic shampoo could help me out. I want my waves to be curlier and more of them too. Please tell me what could help please! Thank you! What is the best organic shampoo and conditioner for my hair? It's terrible! Please help! ?
your hair is definitely dry!!!go to http://www.terressentials.com/haircare.h鈥?/a> (these guys make the only usda-certified organic shampoos out there)and buy shampoos for dry hair like Lavender Garden and Left Coast Lemon.also,i highly recommend getting the cream at http://www.terressentials.com/bodycare.h鈥?/a> because the link http://www.terressentials.com/faq.html#h鈥?/a> recommends it for people with extremely dry hair(see the question ';Do you have a hair conditioner?'; on that link)...

hope all this would help you out.keep in mind however, that you need to use these shampoos for on a daily basis for at least a month before you can achieve the desired results...

    good luck :)

edit:oh yes,and make sure to keep this hair wash on your hair for at least 15 mins before you rinse it off(you will NOT get a better hair if this hair wash doesn't take its time on your hair),and try your best not to use hot or warm water on your hair at all...

also, one last advice if you don't mind:NEVER blow your hair, hot air damages your hair folicles and strands and makes it really dry, that's the very last thing you wanna do.please never blow your hair(especially on hair types like yours)...

well you should wash your hair every other day or every two days because if you wash your hair every day you wash out the oils that adds shine to your hair and it makes it healthy and everytime you wash your hair you should use conditionerIs it advisable to use shampoo everyday?
no you are only supposed to wash your hair every other day.

i wash my hair every day, and it gets to the point where if i dont wash it i feel gross and stuff. dont get in to it.

wash your hair every other day.
Well since at school for me, we have gym every day so I take a shower everynight. So what I do is a shampoo everyday and I condition every other day. Hope I helped. (:
Sure! And clarifying shampoo is the best for everyday use!
Shampoo every day only if you have fine or oily hair.
i would use them every other day

What is the best moisturizing shampoo?

    Hey guys,

my hair is sooo staticky! It's been like that pretty much a year now. I use the herbal essences moisturizing shampoo but it does not work! What can i do? Dryer sheets + Static Guard did not work for me.

Thanks! What is the best moisturizing shampoo?
Shampoo molecules go into the hair shaft, attach themselves to molecules of dirt and oil, and wash out. So shampoo cleans hair, that is all that it does, and does not moisturize. Hair product companies just advertise that to get you to buy their product. You should get a good conditioner. A salon quality conditioner will properly lock down the cuticle to prevent frizz (wash it out in cool water). What is the best moisturizing shampoo?
It doesnt matter which shampoo you use. You need to find a good moisturizing conditioner. Infusium 23 has a good one.
Have you ever tried to spray some hairspray on your brush or comb then brushing your hair, when it's dry. Do you use any mousse or gel? That might help some too.
i use the kind for dogs...

Can I combine the Tresemme shampoo/conditioner and heat protection spray with the CHI silk infusion?

I straighten my hair everyday and right now i use got2be and john frieda, but I am thinking of switching to tresemme shampoo and heat protection spray and the CHI silk infusion, will it work better for my hair and make it silky smooth????

I have very thin hair and it tends to get frizzy and when i straighten it with my old straightener, it flips out(but my chi is coming in the mail soon). Can I combine the Tresemme shampoo/conditioner and heat protection spray with the CHI silk infusion?
Wow i love you girl! I absolutely love John Frieda Brilliante Brunette Moisturizing Shampoo and Conditioner! It makes my hair so silky! I think you should stick with that. You can definatley shampoo with Tresseme Shampoo and Conditioner and then apply some silk infusion in your hair before you blow dry or air dry, then apply a little more before u flat iron. Chi Silk infusion is also AMAZING!! i love it so much and it works WONDERS! Chi is also the best iron next to the really spendy GHD. You go girl! Your gonna do fine :D

Also try using the John Frieda Brunette Volumizing Shampoo or the whole new John Frieda Volumizing Line they just came out with!! OR if you say your hair gets really frizzy, john frieda has the Brunetter Lustrous Smooth Shampoo and Conditoner. Try any combination or John Frieda Brunetter Volume or Lustrous Smooth or John Frieda Luxurios Volume! I would say... Shampoo with John Frieda Brunette Volume cuz it wont make your hair so flat and fine, John Frieda Lustrous Smooth Brunette Conditioner to make it smooth and silky, and Chi Silk Infusion before u dry it and before u flat iron. ROCK ON GIRL!!

  • Can I make homemade carpet shampoo for my bissel steam cleaner? How?

I ran out and i';m cheap. ThanksCan I make homemade carpet shampoo for my bissel steam cleaner? How?
I use liquid laundry detergent. It gets sudsy, but it cleans really well. Make sure you rinse the carpet after cleaning with clear water. Can I make homemade carpet shampoo for my bissel steam cleaner? How?
I wouldn't if the steamer is new, because it will void the warranty.

If it's not new, though, you can probably follow some of the suggestions on this page.

I just prefer to buy new cleaner (It doen't have to be Bissel, even though the manual says that).
I don't know about the homemade soap, but there is probably enough soap left over from the last time that you cleaned your carpets, that you should do your carpet once with just straight water. You'd be surprised at how much dirt comes out with just water.

Also, most home steam cleaners don't have enough power to get all of that soap and water out for you. Make sure you have plenty of fans on after you clean so that you prevent the risk of mold growing in the carpet pad.
Yep cheap and clean way.....ERA laundry soap for the cleaning (takes any stain out you can think of) mixed with bout 1/4 cp. of vinegar to control remove oders, and keep carpet fibers soft. Been using this mixture for years!
Yes I ALWAYS use laundry detergant and a 1/2 of cup of bleach ( doesn't matter what color your carpet is it wont harm it) I have a huntergreen carpet and I clean it w/ Tide and bleach all the tiem it gets it really clean and leaves a great smell!!!

I got Horse and Mane shampoo to make my hair grow longer, how fast does this work?

i had really long hair to the middle of my back and like an idiot i let my boyfriend cut it off really short, i had emo hair and now that we are broken up, its been 5 months and its slowly growing i can put it in a small ponytail now.

but what i want to know is how fast does this shampoo work and will when will it start working?I got Horse and Mane shampoo to make my hair grow longer, how fast does this work?
So here's the thing- no shampoo, conditioner, or any other product applied to the hair will make it grow faster. Hair grows from underneath your scalp, so putting something on the hair or scalp will not help.

A good diet and vitamin supplements will help a little, but you are just going to have to be patient. You should keep your ends trimmed and avoid using a lot of heat or chemicals on your hair. If you are really desperate for long hair right now, you may want to try some clip in extensions. I got Horse and Mane shampoo to make my hair grow longer, how fast does this work?
the mane and tail shampoo won't actually make your hair grow any faster. all it does is make it healthier by keeping it moisturized and such. just keep your hair healthy and maybe take some vitamins [[they have nail and hair ones at like walmart or something]. it'll grow back eventually [having the same problem. i cut it super short back in march and i can finally put it all in a short ponytail. my hair also grows slow, it's a pain in the ***. lol]

    good luck dear =]
keep your hair healthy, that's all you can do.
i seriously doubt that the shampoo will make your hair grow faster. sorry.

I love to use different smelling shampoo. What kind do u like?

Is this bad for your hair? I have all kinds of brands and smells.I love to use different smelling shampoo. What kind do u like?

    Biolage smells really good

i heard it was good to switch shampoos every few months, i use tressemme' or how ever you spell it also love herbal essence... yum..
    herbal essences...it's my signature ';hair scent';
I don't see y it would and I love anything mango or an ocean breeze or somehting like that!

Shampoo or conditioner that makes hair grow longer?

Is there any shampoo or conditioner that would help my hair grow longer? its kinda long now, but i want it longer and i usually have to get it trimmed cuz of dead ends.Shampoo or conditioner that makes hair grow longer?
Use Olive oilShampoo or conditioner that makes hair grow longer?
    None of them.

It depends on your diet. If you have a proper, healthy and a balanced diet, then not only the length will grow but your hair will also become silky and healthy. Shampoos and conditioners may not necessarily work out well and there are possibilities that your hair become rough due to the chemicals present in the shampoos and conditioners which according to the advertisements help in the growth of hair.

    All the best! :)

There is no way to make your hair grow longer. Mane and tail doesn't grow hair faster. No shampoo or Conditioner will do that, You need to keep your hair healthy, in order for it to grow better. Keep getting your trims, split ends cause breakage.
Sorry but trust me i've looked and tried all kinds of stuff because im trying to grow my hair to my ribs and the thing is no matter what the stuff says on the bottles it ain't gonna work. The only way is patience or hair extensions.
Shampoo is for washing your hair and conditioner is for nourishing it but not for growing your hair.Pure coconut oil is the best to grow longer hair.
Mane n' Tail is a horse shampoo. My aunt and cousins use it and they have smooth long hair.

    http://www.foryourllamas.com/shampoos.htm
There is no shampoo or conditioner to make your hair grow. Drink lot of water and take balance diet. Use organic products, so that you can avoid dead ends.
try aussie or herbal essenses or you could use mane n' tail horse shampoo thats what i use and all it does is make your hair thicker and healthier which will make your hair grow longer!
I heard, washing your hair using cold water helps. I tried once, and I think it helps..
There's a rumor that Mane n' Tail Shampoo and Conditioner make hair grow faster. I don't know if it's true though!
    Loreal long and strong.

so maybe you should try that.
Ok, use a shampoo that says ';Clarifying'; on it like Herbal Essences Drama Clean. It's even better if you find a clarifying shampoo for dandruff! Shower, do not bathe. Go buy a ';Deep Conditioner'; and follow the directions on the back. Soon you will have good hair!

My mom's a retired hairstylist, I know these things. Good luck!

Shampoo for those that tend to be allergic?

I have used loreal colorvive (now vive pro) for many years, but my system may be rejecting it since I get itchiness in my scalp and areas of my skin. Pantene has always dried out my hair as did Suave and Finesse. I don't like the 'fragrance' of head and shoulders and was hoping that others that had allergies to fragrances and shampoos can give their take. Thank you!Shampoo for those that tend to be allergic?
Your scalp is probably allergic to shampoo so you should browse at natural food stores like Whole foods.

Some organic shampoo brands are Giovanni (use their tea tree oil shampoo in the winter to get rid of dandruff), Burt Bees, Kiss my Face, Nature's Gate, Desert Essence, and more.

Organic shampoos work better on my hair and gives a more natural scent so it would probably be for the same as you. It just costs a bit more since they are organic.Shampoo for those that tend to be allergic?
I have problems with being allergic to shampoos. I really like Burts Bee's super shiney grapefruit and sugar beet.

    http://www.drugstore.com/products/prod.a…
You might want to try a whole foods type store, Sprouts where I live. They have all sorts of natural shampoos that might work well. Also, I know that my dermatologist gave me a sample of shampoo (I do not have itchy scalp, but it was free) and it was called tar something. I used it on my dog who does have itchy skin and it seemed to help her. Might be pricey though.
Most products on the market contain ingredients that cause irritation and dryness such as alcohol, wax, dyes, chemicals, fragrances, acetone, mineral oil, etc. These only give a temporary feeling of softness and smell fabulous but they have little to no long term benefits. Arbonne has some great pure, safe, and beneficial products that are formulated to meet your specific need. The self adjusting daily shampoo and conditioner are formulated with natural tree oil. Native to Australia, tea tree oil is known as “The wonder from down under.” :-) This natural, super-potent oil treats dry, flaky scalp, so that both the head and hair are left nourished, and flake-free. It's botanically based, pure, and safe with key ingredients including nanospheres, nettle, hops, sage and thyme extracts, vitamins A, C, E. You're not going to get a really strong fruity smell because these products are made of natural botanicals and do not add harmful fragrance. If you're open to trying a free sample, I'll be happy to send you one.

What is a really good moisturizing shampoo/conditioner?

I am a guy. I have really dry hair. Please I will take any recommendations. thanks. What is a really good moisturizing shampoo/conditioner?
dove...cool moistureWhat is a really good moisturizing shampoo/conditioner?
Avon has some good products. I like dove too. In conditioner I swear by loreal. But recently I used a sunsilk conditioner which was pretty good too. You can try hot oil massages with olive oil if not once a week, try at least once a month. It works wonders with dry hair. But if you find it too troublesome, try using the hair masks for damaged hair. They are ready to use and easily available too.
I like the Infusium products. There are shampoos, conditioning rinses, and leave-in conditioning treatments in the line of products, and they all work fabulously.
I use Aussie Moist Shampoo %26amp; Conditioner.

Also, alot of the dryness can come from sun damage. Try and spray your hair with a leave-in conditioner w/ SPF 15. It's a little tricky to find but the difference is noticeable.
Try Neutrogena Triple Moisture also Suave products are really good for moisturizing.
    dove

    =]
This is easy for me because I was in the same boat as you are. My hair is fine and dry, a nightmare for us girls. The best shampoo I've used is Aveda. It's all natural and can be pricey, but you don't have to use very much, just a quarter size amount and it will last a long time. You can use their ';Damage Remedy'; shampoo and conditioner after you get your next cut or if your hair is not too dry go ahead and use the ';Pure Abundance'; or the ';Rosemary Mint'; shampoo %26amp; conditioner. You'll need the conditioner which helps the dryness. Another great brand is ';Bumble%26amp; Bumble'; gentle shampoo and conditioner. You can get these brands or a location of a salon that sells them from their web sites. Good Luck!
herbal essence has a really good shampoo and so does dove
I use sunsilk Hydra Shampoo and Conditioner and after I get out of the shower, I use Sunsilk Hydar TLC leave in conditioner. I have thick, frizzy hair and the leave in conditioner takes the weight off and make it silky. Very nice!!!

On curly, thick hair you should never use heat. Also, when your conditioning your hair, leave it in for 3-5min. and rinse with cold water, not hot. Hot water is only for taking off the dirt during shampooing. Think of it this way, when you take a hot shower, your skin gets dry after you get out and you have to moisturize with lotion, think of your hair in the same way.

    P.S

The one I use is SUNSILK in the PINK bottles
    SUNSILK_ Hydra TLC

    BRIGHT PINK BOTTLE! Works Great!

Is it ok to use normal shampoo on dogs?

Not really - it will probably make your dog's skin itch.

Unless there is some sort of emergency, you should wait until you can get some shampoo made for dogs. If your dog rolled in something really bad, you can use regular Dawn dish detergent for now, but rinse it well.Is it ok to use normal shampoo on dogs?
A dog's skin is different than a human's; however, I have used organic castille body wash/shampoo on my pup from time to time. I bought it at a health-food store (Wegman's also carried it, and Whole Foods probably does too) and the shampoo was made to be gentle enough for use on newborn babies. I used it because my pup's skin was irritated by most doggie shampoos and I needed something gentle enough to bathe her without irritation. The castille wash worked really well on her.

If you want to periodically use regular shampoo on your dog, I would suggest using something hypoallergenic that is formulated for babies.

Hope this helps! Is it ok to use normal shampoo on dogs?
    No it isn't.

Ppl have a different ph from dogs %26amp; our shampoo contains chemicals that doesn't bother our skin but they do bother most dogs' skins. Ppl have a ph from of 5.2 - 6.2 while dogs range from 6.2 - 8.62. Even a small difference makes a big difference to sensitive skin dogs. (this includes baby, dove etc) Only use pet products on pets - they are not expensive even for quality ones.
The skin and hair of a dog has a different Ph than humans, so it is best to use a dog shampoo created for their specific Ph levels. One time probably isn't going to hurt, but I wouldn't do it on a regular basis.
its not the best idea because your not sure how your dogs skin will react with the shampoo

you might want to try placing a small portion of shampoo on a patch of skin and if nothing happens than go for it

(its still better to use dog shampoo)
I don't think adult shmapoo is a good idea, it might irritate the skin, but baby shampoo works great and does not irritate the skin or eyes. Thats What i use for my dog and he fur is shiny and silky like it is supposed to be:P
I don't think it's a good idea as it may irritate the skin.

You can use a small amount of baby oil shampoo if you want to use human shampoo but doggy shampoo is better
I wash my Pit bulls fur with Garnier Frutis shampoo. It makes his fur fluffy and smelling good. But I do still wash him first with Sergent's Fleas shampoo. Then with th fancy stuff. The only advice is to make sure you rinse him really well....
Why? Are you poor you can't pay for dog shampoo or just to lazy to go to the store??...

Anyways, No it makes them itchy.

ok, i read the other answers, and i would have to say that garnier fructiesse has been the best for me so far. it leaves my hair really soft!!!
Paul Mitchell and/or Biolage works best for me
I find that it's best to use hot oil treatments occasionaly as coloured hair can be dry and dull from the strong chemicals in products such as Loreal/

Keratse are a liuttle expensive but really good, invest in their intense hair conditioner which really works on dry listless hair.
I love the Loreal Vive for color treated hair, and they make a conditioner that's incredible for dry hair!
Alberto VO5's Passion Fruit shampoo and conditioner.

But the best is Tres' Semme. It makes your hair soft and manageable while giving your hair blinding luster.
try GARNIER fructies fortifying shampoo for colored hair, you simply love that product
I would try Dove Shampoo. I color my hair and it seems as if thats the only shampoo thats works well on me.
A Product called ';Nixiom'; it's expensive but really works they have shampoo and conditioner and a whole entire line of other great products.
Hmmm... I have the same problem as you. I suggest using Dove, Pantene or Garnier Fructis. Instead of focusing on smells, they focus on making your hair into good shape. Avoid using Loreal and Herbal Essences, too much chemicals in them that damage your hair severley.

As a tip, change your shampoo/conditioner daily, once you use it too often it doesn't work well anymore, because your hair is so used to it.

    I suggest doing

1 month Dove, next Pantene, next Garnier Fructis, then Dove and so on...

Good luck on figuring out the ideal shampoo/conditioner!

You should be able to find it in a drugstore or local grocery store. If you can't find them there, you might want to try a salon, although it might be likely that it's not there. So hit the drugstores first.
most salons will be willing to special order product if you ask them to! also you may want to look in a major beauty supply store!

Does john freda sheer blonde shampoo work if you dont have highlights and will it make your hair go blonder ?

im 12 and my hair used to be really blonde but now its darker than a dirty blonde colour

ive never got highights before !Does john freda sheer blonde shampoo work if you dont have highlights and will it make your hair go blonder ?
It doesn't have coloring in it, so it won't make your hair blonder. What it does is it takes the brassiness out of blonde hair. Brassiness makes blonde hair dull.

When i used herbal essences shampoo and clumps of hair were falling out?

and then when i used pantene pro v only a bit was coming out why is that? When i used herbal essences shampoo and clumps of hair were falling out?
I don't think it had anything at all to do with the shampoo. On average we lose up to 100 hairs a day from our heads - hair is constantly growing and dying.

Maybe you hadn't washed it for a couple of days or hadn't brushed it that day and it just seemed like there was more hair coming out than usual. When i used herbal essences shampoo and clumps of hair were falling out?
Ignore the above answer- cancer does not make your hair come out it is the cancer treatment that does. :( Anyhoo, if shampoos are making your hair fall out, there may be a more serious cause. It may be that the type of shampoo is irrelevant are your hair was coming out because of stress or a medical condition such as alopecia. If this ever happens again, you should go to the doctor's as hair loss may just be a symptom of something more serious. From now on, just use organic shampoos or ones that have no harsh chemicals in as you may have been allergic to one of the ingredients. I hope i helped. P.S Has this ever happened before? xxx :)

Can I just say I meant the first answer as that one seemed to be above while I was typing! :)
I would say not to use chemicals on your hair. Why don't you go for some home remedies. Egg whites, lemon juice, oil massages, reducing stress and diet changes can reduce hair fall and make it healthier. You can find more cheap, effective and natural home remedies for hair loss as well as for healthy hair at http://www.wellnesstalk.org/hairfall.htm…
OMG. That girl actually thinks u have cancer? U do know that hair falls out from the treatment of cancer and not from the cancer itself? I hope u were joking.
Then stop using it you fool!!!
Maybe you have cancer, or maybe its the chemicals in the shampoo. Try using a natural shampoo, like an organic one!

    hope this helped ♥
