Can teens from 13-15 year old girls work in a hair salon as a shampoo girl or take down hair and earn money?

I'm just tryna earn some extra money and I know I'm good at that so please respondCan teens from 13-15 year old girls work in a hair salon as a shampoo girl or take down hair and earn money?
Depends on your state guide lines regarding ages to work. Here in Illinois you need to have a work permit if you are younger than 16. I think 13 is way too young. Age aside I think being a shampoo girl is a great way to learn to deal with people. Can teens from 13-15 year old girls work in a hair salon as a shampoo girl or take down hair and earn money?
Try the African braiding shops. They never go by state regulations, but don't expect to get paid much!
Go to your local salons, and ask the owners. It depends on how they feel, really. Some might let you do it, and some might not. You just have to go out and ask.
Yes, Well in Texas you can I wanted to do the same thing, my Dad is a salon owner and we called a cosmetology school and I am getting my shampoo license when I'm 15.

Good Luck:)
lol, i have no idea but when you find out gurl let me know cuz i needa job too, and thats like the best 1 for me.. lolz
my friend is 15 and shampoos hair,

but shes almost 16 and her mom

owns the salon, but maybe?

good luck!
probably not, unless you know someone who already works there
No, they can't. I'm pretty sure they save those jobs for the new guys and girls that come and work in the salon. But even then, the legal working age is 16. However, ask around at daycares, they usually hire with the right papers signed. Good Luck =]

What is the best hair conditioner and shampoo?

????What is the best hair conditioner and shampoo?
I use mane n tail to help my hair grow longer. But regular pantene or jon frieda are good. What is the best hair conditioner and shampoo?
The best is what you'll find in a salon. Products like Herbal Essence, Dove, Pantene, and such are made with a soap base instead of a shampoo base. When you use shampoos with an actual shampoo base, the shampoo suds up more so you dont have to use as much. Also, when using a shampoo with a soap base, it washes out the natural oils completely. Shampoo bases work with the natural oils to protect and condition your hair.
it kind of depends on what quality you want, and how much you are willing to spend, i personally love herbal essence, its cheap, smells amazing, and makes my hair really soft! :)
Pantene Prov V is the best. They have many varieties for all different kinds of hair problems. They are also cheap and work much better than salon brands.
there is no clear cut best. and it depends on your hair type if its greasy or thin or rough so I like dove shampoo its affordable and works great.
ugh i hate pantene. My fave right now is garnier fructis sleek and shine shampoo + sleek and shine melting conditioner.
Head and Shoulders is the best even if you do not have dandruff it is still really good for moisturizing your hair.
hairlogic products try the website www.hairlogicproducts.com 1 bottle will change the way you look at you hair.
pantene pro v or white rain. They are both fairly cheap (although white rain is cheaper) and they make my hair so much healthier %26amp; shinier than any other.
Gee it really matters what kind of hair you have!

What kind of hair do you have?
I love garnier fructise. It keeps your hair shiny and smelling great.
By the looks of it I think you are already on top of that one
I use panteen it is very good and keeps my hair looking healthy :)
Herbal Essences,

Whats the difference between moisturizing shampoo and hydrating shampoo?

i have dry hair and what kind should i get?moisturizing shampoo or the hydrating one?Whats the difference between moisturizing shampoo and hydrating shampoo?
hydrating would be for giving it a bounce... and moisurizing would be one which would soften then hair and add extra softness and conditioner to your dry hair... if u have dry hair use a good extra dose of conditioner...Whats the difference between moisturizing shampoo and hydrating shampoo?
Moisturizing and hydrating are the antonyms of shampoo! Your dry hair would probably appriciate it if you cut back on the shampoo and use more conditioner.
They are the same. Its just the terminology the company chose.
Not much.

Go to a pound shop and buy palmolive shampoo and conditioner! its really good and i dont have tangles or knots in my hair, so its worth a try, id recommend the milk and honey one!
If you have natural hair.. not to dry then Pantene might be a good cheap product to try. It always made my hair less tangled.. If you can get a salon product. They really are worth the money.
Pantene pro v.....its really good and does the trick, i wake up and not brush my hair and use that and still dont need to brush it lol. Hope ive helped x
no shampoo will work. Conditioner is all you can use to fix that. You dont have to use alot, but comb it through wen u do

Have you ever tried Kirkland/Costco brand shampoo or conditioner?

I've searched the web for reviews but I couldn't find any. The price is great but I just cannot motivate myself to purchase two huge bottles of shampoo and conditioner before knowing if they are good or not. Please help. Thanks!Have you ever tried Kirkland/Costco brand shampoo or conditioner?
I have used both and I really like the shampoo, but it did make my scalp itch( I have sensitive skin) and the conditioner did not do well with my hair. I still use the shampoo. It is worth trying because you can't beat the price for such big bottles.Have you ever tried Kirkland/Costco brand shampoo or conditioner?
Kirkland shampoo and conditioner is Matrix Biolage Hydrating Shampoo. I had searched and searched as the fragrance was very familiar to my wife and me. I looked up Matrix Biolage as we used to use it and all the ingredients are the same. Report Abuse

costco has high standards for their products... its good stuff.

ALTHOUGH if you have very dry hair.. its prolly not the best stuff for you.

What shampoo works best on frizzy hair?

My hair is pretty frizzy and really thick. Are there any shampoo recommendations that will make my hair shiny and silky?I use Herbal Essences Moisture shampoo which does make my hair less dry but what will make my hair less frizzy and silky? What shampoo works best on frizzy hair?
keep using what you are but after you take a shower spray some bed head defrizz spray. its easy to find. its in a purple bottle and it works!! i have super frizzy hair and its perfect!

to make it shiny i would use the paul mitchel smoothing serum.

hope i helped!!What shampoo works best on frizzy hair?
Part of the problem is that you are using store bought products. These products are cheaper but they are also generally more alkaline which means they blow your hair cuticle open - making it frizzy and open to damage. Try the Moisture line from Paul Mitchell: the Shampoo, Daily treatment and SuperCharge moistuer will replace a lot of what your hair has lost.
shampoos really shouldnt be used for a specific problem except to clean your hair.

After you wash your hair and condition your hair rinse with cold water, it adds shine, and makes hair less frizzy and soft because it closes the cuticles.
omg, i hav frizzy hair 2, and i use fructis anti-frizz system ( the shampoo and conditioner) it's smells terrific and works fabulously! %26lt;3
None you are stuck with your ugly frizzy hair too bad (I have the same problem and have used every kind af shampoo and nothing works)
FRUCTICE i had the same problem! i even used herbal esscences and got the ame results as you but i just asked my friend and she said she used fructice but DO NOT USE SUAVE
    instead of shampoo,

    try using deep conditioner.

    Paul Mitchell Super-Charged Moisturizer
my hair is frizzy and i use herbal essences the purple one and then my hair dosent get frizzy
maybe use tresseme natural or tresseme smooth and silky i use that on my frizzy hair and it works pretty good:)

I am looking for sesame street tearless shampoo for my baby. Can you help me find it?

I used to use it years ago and ive gone to several stores and they dont carry it. The bottle is shaped like big bird or some other muppet you twist off the head and pour the shampoo? Do you use this product or maybe know someone thanksI am looking for sesame street tearless shampoo for my baby. Can you help me find it?
    I think I remember it!

You may need to have it shipped to you. Were you interested in the actual product or the whole package (with the twist off head and everything)? I can only find the product. 1st link is travel size only, 2nd link is with other products (and no twist off head). It may be a discontinued product, sorry! Maybe you can search for the bottle on e-bay and refill it...

What shampoo showld I use to make my dog smell better?

My pekingese smells awful after the bath. Any sugestions? What shampoo showld I use to make my dog smell better?
Im probably gonna catch some crap for this but I always use Sauve Kids Shampoo Cherry scent and Sauve Kids Grape Conditioner.

Its mild, it doesnt hurt their eyes if it get in them, thus far (crosses fingers) after 8 years of using that on my pets I have never had any skin problems using it.

I have severe allergies to pets and I use Plenty of soap (Dont be stingy with the soap), I lather them up, let it sit for 10 minutes rinse and repeat twice more. Then I put on the conditioner and allow it to set for a couple of minutes and rinse. Ive found that bathing 3 times seems to be the magic number of getting rid of all the dander that smells bad. Allowing it to sit on the body for 10 minutes suffocates any bugs that might be on the animal killing them.

I bathe everyone once a week and the smell usually last about 5 days...then they go back to smelling like dog and cat again...lol.

P.S. The above poster is also correct. Diet is important to good skin and good fur and smell. Make sure you are feeding a good quality food (if it has corn in it or if its Iams it is NOT a good quality food). The first several ingredients in any good food should be MEAT and absolutely NO corn. Corn has no nutritional value in it for dogs or cats, its just a cheap filler. What shampoo showld I use to make my dog smell better?
I just use Suave lavender, but they have lots of scents.
baby shampoo it work on my jack russell just don't use dog/puppy shampoo the has a smell (.e baby powder) it can make your dog/puppy iches like crazey my puppy did :)

    amy.x
I use lavendar scented doggy shampoo and that usually takes a good bit of the stink away.

If you still have stink issues wait til she's dry then use a bit of baking soda to rub into her fur. It will soak up the odor and you can brush the excess out.
Fresh n Clean leaves a nice scent that lasts up to 2 weeks. Dogs can also smell if they have a skin problem, so make sure that's not an issue.
In my opinion, when i introduced premium dog food into my 2 dogs life, their smell went away entirely. no 'wet dog smell' anyfood with corn will inhibit chronic ear infections and a smelly coat. shampoo just masks it as well as the perfumes in it may irritate delicate skin areas.try a food with no corn, soy,or wheat, and i swear,in a few weeks, your furry friend will have next to nothing in smell.:)!!!

My shampoo makes my hair greasy, and barely washes it. how do i make it less greasy?

i have extremely thin hair, and it tends to get greasy by the end of the first day. my hairdresser recommended biolage volumatherapie, but it makes my hair disgustingly greasy 2 hours after the shampooing. my parents won't buy me another shampoo until this one's gone. is there any possible tricks or ways that i can make this shampoo work and my hair less greasy? My shampoo makes my hair greasy, and barely washes it. how do i make it less greasy?
well pore some of the shampoo out

so that way they will have to buy more

of a different kind. and as form the sounds

of it u dont shower daily? well i would say

try that (showering daily). dont touch

your hair, like dont run your fingers through

it or anything. and dont put conditioner on

ur scalp, just condition ur hair from the neck

    down.

:)My shampoo makes my hair greasy, and barely washes it. how do i make it less greasy?
I have the same problem, but you won't be able to use that same shampoo. When my hair gets weighed down and greasy I use biolage normalizing shampoo for a week and then use biolage fortifying shampoo the rest of the time. I also use k-pak or bain de terre watercress volumizing conditioner they don't weigh down my hair.
Just use your body wash for a while. It might dry out your hair a little. And just squirt the shampoo down the drain, wait a couple of weeks and say your out. And if they don't believe you say that you have to wash your hair more since it makes your hair greasy. Then try some non moisturizing Herbal Essences shampoo.
I don't think that there is but maybe seeing as they are waiting until this shampoo is gone you could poor half of it away so then you don't have to wait as long or buy another shampoo with your own money. Next time buy I shampoo for greasy/oily hair.
use just a little bit of shampoo. and lather. then make sure you wash it out completely. if your using conditioner then use a tiny bit only on the ends of your hair.

    hope this helps.
When using your shampoo, only use the size of a penny. And make sure you rinse it really well. Same goes for conditioner.
I sometimes put baby powder in my hair when it's greasy. Trust me, it works.
    uh...

    no.

    just...........

put it all down the drain!!!

Which shampoo is best for growing long hair?

my hair are up to my shoulder i want to grow them long and fast any good suggestions?Which shampoo is best for growing long hair?
Well I have beautiful long hair and I don't mean to brag but every says they love it, so here is my favorite shampoo Bumble and Bumble Sunday Shampoo, you can buy it at like a salon in your mall. But it is sorta expensive like 18 bucks for like a normal sized container I use the large size which is 44 bucks, but if you are wanting to not spend so much money try Suave, they have one for long hair, and I used to use it before I discovered Bumble and Bumble and yeah my hair grew really fast after using it!! So good luck, and I hope I helped!Which shampoo is best for growing long hair?
A healthy diet. Hair is made of dead cells. Anything we do to it isn't going to make it grow faster--that happens under the scalp where the new hair cells are formed in the follicles. If you are getting a good diet, with plenty of protein and B vitamins, your hair will grow well. There are vitamins out there that are formulated especially for people who need extra help for hair and nails. Take heart--hair grows faster in the summer for some reason; warm weather is here and your hair will start to grow a little faster.
Well, i really dont know that can happen! But really, that depends on the type of hair u have. But talk to ur stylist. My mom's a stylist and she has a lot of treatment for that.
i heard that jojoba oil is healty for the hair, and wearing your hair in a ponytail will help 'pull' the hair out a little faster.
No shampoo can make your hair grow faster. Trimming it doesn't make it grow faster either. Think science.
Herbal Essences Long Term Relationship--it prevents split ends so u can grow ur hair long
olive oil shampoo, it worked for me....you can get it at walmart!
A fortyfing shampoo, like garnier fructis for long hair.

    Good luck............................
    garnier fructis for sure.

What shampoo can a person use daily without over drying their hair?

    A moisturizing shampoo is best.

Which shampoo is the best in terms of eradicating dandruff?

i mean is it head and shouders or what?Which shampoo is the best in terms of eradicating dandruff?
Heads and Shoulders is not for Indians.

Indians have plenty of natural shampoos, which will not have any side effects.

Heads and Shoulders shampoo is very good, it will eradicate the dandruff but there would not be any hair and will soon become bald.

Try something which is natural without any side effects. There are plenty of such products available in the local market.Which shampoo is the best in terms of eradicating dandruff?
If you use head %26amp; shoulders make sure its the BLUE bottle with Selenium. NOT zinc. Dandruff is from a fungus (Malassezia globosa) that selenium will kill. I think its the same fungis as ringworm. Most ppl have it but do not realise. Its in SELsun blue, brand.

The BEST over the counter brand is called nizoral, it contains an anti-fungal 1%. You can get stronger concentrations by perscription. In my experience all other brands are worthless.
Head and shoulders didn't work for me because the reason I had dandruff was because my hair was too greasy and the grease was irritating my scalp, so bumble and bumble sunday shampoo was what finally got rid of my dandruff, since it gets rid of all the excess oils. However if you've got dandruff because your scalp is dry, head and shoulders will work fine! Good luck.
Use a Tea Tree Shampoo Paul Mitchell makes one.The Tea Tree oil in it softens and treats your scalp to rid you of the dandruff! Don't freak out it has a little tingling effect so it feels like you put peppermint on your head but it works really well it just takes a few shampoo's to see a difference!

    Hope this helps

    Hairstylist
You can use any dandruff shampoo but it will work better if you follow this method. Mix 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar and 6 tablespoons of hot water.Dab with cotton into the scalp, parting the hair with a comb.It should preferably be used at bed time. Next morning shampoo the hair. More simple remedies for dandruff at http://usefulinfo-dandruff.blogspot.com/
Head %26amp; Shoulders shampoos and conditioners work together to fight against the source of dandruff.
apply curd half an hour before you have bath n use head and shoulder shampoo also
Apply yogurt and lemon juice mixture ...........

    .u'll feel d difference b/w natural products 'n' shampoos...........
Acid... I think no hairs, no Dandruff......... lol

Dont use u might be crazy and doing the stuff I said.

I just want to be a funny ...:-p
Just apply yogurt and lemon juice mixture (with if possible neem paste) and apply on your scalp.

    B natural man!
    Klorane Anti-Dandruff
head and shoulders or prell are really good
    Head and shoulders, no question.
Head and Shoulders allll the way. Works wonders.

Best shampoo/conditioner and other styling products for fine hair?

I have fine hair that is cut short with spikey layers. I need to know what styling products would work good to give texture and not weigh my hair down? Also what are good shampoo/conditoners to add volume?Best shampoo/conditioner and other styling products for fine hair?
~~Dove shampoo and conditioner~~Best shampoo/conditioner and other styling products for fine hair?
Head and shoulders. I am surprised how soft it has made my hair.It also doesn't weighed down you hair like other shampoo and conditioners. Just started using it I have thick hair but I have seen that they sell shampoo and conditioner for fine thin hair.
the one reconmended by your stylist. Also a good blast with cold air at the roots will give you more lift
I, too, have *extremely* fine hair. I have found, despite the advice of any and all stylists to the contrary, that Pantene Daily Clarifying, not the Ice Shine, is the absolute best way to keep fine hair clean and shiny all day long.

Other products may have minute amounts of conditioners, even if clear, and will weigh down your fine hair. I've used this Pantene product for 15 years now, and after straying (to save money) to many different 'poos, I keep coming back to it, despite the cost.

Your hair may take up to 2 weeks to adjust to your new shampoo, so if after that time, you notice no advantages, by all means, try something else!
head and shoulders is the best shampoo
Being 45yo, I finally found the answer to that. I use a root lifter and blow dry, then I use Bed Head to spray and finger style. I used to use a curling iron daily with this routine and now with my new cut I just finger style it, and a little wax goes a long way. Good luck.
not panteen it will weigh it down bad. Use something like aussie or garnier fructise.

I prefer Aussie it gives it makes hair look thicker and it smells awesome.
Treseme conditioner. I also like Aussie hairspray, because it holds the style, but doesn't make everything ';crunchie.'; For frizz, I like the green stuff garnier fructese or something. I don't think shampoo matters, as long as you have a good conditioner. But I use head and shoulders shampoo. If you blow dry your hair a lot. I would use Thermasilk mouse. (I think that is the one. Its a purple bottle and helps your hair when it is being treated with heat.)

you can get much information in this website, kindly stay a minute in website and check anyone link at a time
Bedhead, it's light weight so it dosen't make hair so heavy so you get more volumn and your hair looks fuller
I've tried almost every product going when it comes to hair, even more expensive brands and the natural ones from herbalist places. Nothing beats Herbal Essences, especially for fine hair. A quick tip, take an old spray bottle, fill with water and a very small amount of conditioner and mix well. Spray it into your hair and blow dry before styling, works really well to keep your hair naturally soft without weighing it down, as long as you don't overdo it. As for light styling products don't use normal hairspray, no matter what the can says they always leave your hair heavy and sticky. Spray wax works much better although it sounds like it should be heavier. Again the key to good styling is subtlety, a little goes a long way and won't leave your hair looking greasy. For a volumising effect pull the hair back in layers and use a little spray wax on the roots of your hair before brushing through. This will hold the hair away from the scalp giving more volume to your look.
Paul Mitchell Extra Body Line! I love their finishing spray and sculpting foam, plus all of their products have sunscreen in them so they protect your hair.

I do know that Mastercuts is having a sale on Paul Mitchell right now, it's buy one get one 50% off.

Best shampoo and conditioner for using every day on holiday?

My hair is quite dry and has been coloured, and I use straightening irons most days. I'm going on holiday to Majorca for a week, so my hair will be in the sun quite a bit and exposed to chlorine, which means I'll be washing it every day, whereas I usually wash it every other day because that dries it out more. I'll be trying to cut down on using my straighteners while I'm there, too.

Can anyone recommend a really good conditioner to buy to take with me? I'm probably going to take baby shampoo like Johnsons because that'll be really mild and not strip my hair or dry it out more cos it will be washed every day....I just need some ideas of a really good heavy duty conditioner to use after that will stop my hair drying out. Thanks!Best shampoo and conditioner for using every day on holiday?
Charles Worthington does a range of products for holiday hair - also make sure you use a protective spray on your hair when sunbathing and swimming. I think Boots do an own brand one of these called sun and swim or something. Also use a leave-in-conditioner in the day as well so you will be constantly putting moisture back in your hair.Best shampoo and conditioner for using every day on holiday?
    Biolage
i think that you sohuld try the Pantene one for Dry and Colored, and dont use a straightening iron, because it just makes yur hair dryer.

The New Kerastase Soleil Summer Hair Care Range

Sun, sea and chlorine can often be a major threat to your hair during the holiday season. Your hair is highly sensitive to photo-deterioration from the sun's harmful UV rays. The hair naturall try to protect itself with a external layer called the cuticle which is made up of lipids. These lipids can gradually become degraded by exposure to the sun which can expose the heart of the hair to longer lasting damage. Consequently, salt and chlorine are able to penetrate into your hair fibre, weakening and damaging its internal structure.

    Kerastase Soleil

This exposure causes your colour to fade and can leave your hair feeling coarse, brittle and lacking in shine. If you have invested alot of money in having your hair coloured this can be very disconcerting.

Kerastase have re-developed there popular summer hair care range to combat these problems. Kerastase Soleil have developed 4 new products in a 3 step programme to help protect your hair summer the summer period.

Step 1: Protect. Choose one or both of the protect products according to your needs. Kerastase Voile Protecteur is a fine spray product which offers quick and easy protection against the damaging effects of the sun, sea and chlorine in swimming pools. Or you could use Kerastase Creme UV defense, a multi-protection cream with a shine polymer and two UV filters for reinforced sun protection and optimumswim protection when your work it into the hair section by section.

Step 2: Bathe. Use Kerastase Bain Apres-Soleil, a hair bath shampoo specially formulated to act as a fast and effective refresher for your hair. This will leave your hair in optimum condition for further exposure to the sun. As a aftersun shampoo Kerastase Bain Apres-Solweil elimnates the buid-up of salt, sand and cholrine to repair and moisten your hair.

Step 3: Treat. New Kerastase masque UV Denfense Active, this will repair and beautify your hair. This after-sun treatment with cationic derivatives repairs even the most damaged section of the hair. This is the hair care version of a after-sun skincare cream.

    Hi Helen,

Try using Elvive Nutri Gloss its the light pink bottle. It works much better if you use both shampoo and conditioner. Also after washing and conditioning try Elvive hair serum quite expensive but bet you wont use anything else. That's called Anti Frizz serum and is in a Orangey Brown bottle.x
Pantene...that's what I used for a week on vacation and my hair looked and felt great every day! Have fun!
Try Dove intensive care shampoo and conditioner. It's really moisturising as the sun, sea and wind can make your hair quite dry.
    tresseme
one shampoo that is really good is aussie long hair along with conditioner aussie long hair.

Washing hair daily has adverse effects.3 times a week is perfect.

i have used loads of others before reaching this conclusion.:-)

    have a nice holiday.
If You Use Pantene Pro-V Smooth And Sleek Shampoo and Conditioner(One bottle) Your Hair Should Stay Nice And Soft Rather Than Dry.
The absolute best is the new brand called Organix. It has organic active ingredients and is sulfate free so it wont dry out your hair, plus...it smells awesome! Organix has different collections for different hair types which are all absolutely amazing! You can get Organix at Target, Albertsons, Kroger, Bed Bath %26amp; Beyond, Duane Reade, Safeway, etc. You'll love it!!!

    http://www.organixhair.com/
I wash my hair every day i can be quite dry as i also straighten it too. I tend to use the pink sunsilk - respect and balance or the Elvive mirror shine(pink bottle) both these keep your hair soft and shiny. Try them before you go away. I also recommend getting some sort of sun protection spray for your hair.
tresemme's moisture rich !! 鈾?it i just bought some and use it yesterday i love it
    Head and Shoulders
    beer
    TRESEEME

    1000000% ITS THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!

I use to use Elvive Nutri Gloss its the light pink bottle.

Then i thought ill try treseeme as i got my hair all done/coloured at the hairdressers and i found it much better
I would suggest using G.H.D pure detox detoxifying shampoo, I havn't used if myself, but I know it is good stuff! You should use it daily, epecialy if you are in the pool every day, It cleans out all the chlorine which makes hair dull, especialy if you have blonde hair, it gives the hair a green tint, another good shampoo to use is pantene clarifying shampoo, a good intensive conditioner to use for coloured hair is L'oreal elvive colour protect masque as it protects your hair from U.V rays, good luck!
Try Philosophy's Hair And Body Shampoo. Its mild enough for you to use evryday and you can use it on your body also. It comes in all sorts of Flavors Likr Strawberry Daquiri, Lemon Margarita and the list goes on. Check out the website they should have what you need if you dont like my suggestion.

  • What shampoo should I use for my hair?

Im not too sure about products to use on my hair, so I thought I would ask.

Currently Ive been using catwalk and tresemme shampoos, Im wondering are those good for my hair?

If its not what should I use?

I have cheast length hair, that is uber thick, and a ton of curls. Im white, and I tend to dye my hair about every two months. Anything to help with my hair would be greately appreciated! What shampoo should I use for my hair?
I use Matrix (it's green). It smells great and works great.

I used to use Pantiene and that worked great too, but i liked the smell of Matrix more. What shampoo should I use for my hair?
If you have dry curly hair try the Aussie brand of shampoo and hair care line. I had extremely dry, frizzy hair that looked like I was electrocuted. Now with the Aussie hair care products my hair is soft shiny manageable with bouncy curls. Use the ';Moist'; line in Aussie. For volume Aussie has a mousse that says ';Volume'; and a mousse with Leave-in Conditioner (my personal favorite!). Hope this helps! Good Luck! =D
I would use White Rain Extra Body shampoo. Use a flat iron to uncurl the hair or get a re-laxer for your hair to get the curls out your hair.
none with SLS. google bad shampoo ingredients to learn all bad products.
    garnier extra volume is cool

What will happen if you put human shampoo on a dog when washing it?

i need a answer because i have no more dog shampoo and he needs a bath quick any answers. What will happen if you put human shampoo on a dog when washing it?
I don't think it matters since i did that like a million times and when you like wash him make sure it doesn't get any in his eye or mouth. Just wash him with soap then. I did that it's okk. What will happen if you put human shampoo on a dog when washing it?
nothing will happen,,,be sure to keep it out of the eyes and ears,,,and RINSE RINSE RINSE,,,the irritation that arises from a bath is usually from not having rinsed all the shampoo out. i use baby shampoo on my dogs every time they get a bath,,never had a problem. (sometimes they even get a conditioner soak too, for added shine). my vet said the biggest thing is to be sure the dog is thoroughly rinsed
It works just fine as a substitute. In fact, that's all I use. My dogs have no fleas/ticks and I use my same shampoo to get them smellin' fresh again.
He should be fine.Just rinse him thoroughly after wards.Use of a conditioner would be good too.
Nothing, Use a pea size amount. Try Johnson's baby no more tears.
I've used Dawn dish soap on several animals. Whether it was my dogs when they were messy, washing a show calf, getting a snake loose from a glue trap...

Just keep it away from the eyes/mouth and don't let them try to drink any sudsy water and you'll be ok. Wash them off thoroughly so they won't lick any of it off their fur and dry'em well.
Nothing will happen, however it is probably best if you have to use a like a tear free shampoo incase it gets in the dogs eye

Other than that, its perfectly safe, don't worry

When your done, can you wash my dog? lol
It will still get them clean, but it runs the risk of drying out their skin.

Human shampoo is formulated for our scalps. Dog shampoo is formulated for theirs. Their skin gets dried out much more easily than ours do, therefore their shampoo usually has more lanolin in it than ours.
It won't do him any harm. However shampoo for humans contains lanolin to make hair shine and other substances to dissolve grease. As humans sweat through their skin and dogs sweat through their tongues his coat will not need these substances. Although it shouldn't harm him I would use a weak solution just to get rid of the dirt.
Nothing. it will just make them smell better
it won't hurt them. Dog shampoo is just designed for a dogs fur coat to make it shiny. But human shampoo wouldn't harm it at all.
No problem using mild human shampoo on your dog, just rinse well.

You can also use human cream rinse and rinse well. Enjoy your good smelling dog !!
    use baby shampoo
If he rolled in something, try bathing him just with water until you can go out and buy some dog shampoo. If you think shampoo is necessary, dilute it so it's half water/half shampoo. Make sure not to get it in any of his orifices and to rinse it out completely so none is left on his skin or coat.
if you use a human shampoo on a dog you will either inflame the skin or cause very itching something real bad never use human shampoo on a dog dog shampoo is made to be formulated for dogs skin because its very sensitive.im a dog groomer and i strongly advise against it.
He will start walking on his hind legs, open the fridge and stand there looking at what to eat. Then he will sit on the couch and watch football all day long with his hand in his waistband.

    Or maybe nothing at all.
If you do that they get all sudsy, soapy and clean.

LOL, what do you think they tested the ';human'; shampoo on in the first place?
Never use human shampoo on dogs. Their PH is different than ours.

I use Buddy Wash, then Buddy Rinse.
oh, well if i were you i would just go buy some. i mean you never know how they can react to the specific type of shampoo.you can also look up dry dog shampoo, easy to make and no water necessary. try baking soda.

    http://www.thriftyfun.com/tf66904918.tip鈥?/a>
Nothing. It works just fine. We don't even bother to use dog shampoo.
nothing.. Human shampoo works fine. Just DON'T get it in your dogs eyes!!
it makes the dog smell good! just don't get it in their eyes; baby shampoo is better for dogs just incase it does get in their eyes.
It wouldn't harm them. Try to use very little
It will still do the job.

Can I wash my rats with dog shampoo?

I bought a rodent shampoo from the pet store and it does nothing to eliminate their smelly odour ( they go back to smelling yucky again)! Is dog shampoo safe to use on a rat or not?Can I wash my rats with dog shampoo?
Do you have male rats or female rats? Female rats have a sweet smell something like grape soda. Male rats have a smell like warm taco chips. This is the male's natural musky scent and you shouldn't be trying to get rid of it. If your rats smell like urine or feces then it means their cage needs to be kept cleaner. Male rats may need their cage to be cleaned out as often as every day. Some males are lazy and they pee in the same bedding they sleep in.

    Some male rats,depending on their level of testosterone, have an orangy, oily skin, which we have come to call, ';Buck Grease';

    http://search.yahoo.com/search?search=Bu鈥?/a>

This is the only time we use Dawn Dishwashing Detergent is to clean off Buck Grease because it's the only soap that will do the job.

A rat's skin pH is similar to a dog's skin pH so if you use anything other then a dog shampoo or a shampoo made specifically for rodents, you will be unintentionally changing the pH of the rat's skin. This sets up an irritated skin condition (doesn't mean you can see this condition) that will make the rat smell even more. In other words your attempt for a fresh-smelling rat will have backfired as you end up in a vicious cycle that will stop only when you stop bathing the rat. The baby shampoo and the kitten/cat shampoos are not proper shampoos for rats. Don't bathe your rat too often, as you are stripping oils out of the coat.

Yes, you can use a puppy shampoo or an oatmeal based dog shampoo to bathe your rats. It's still contraversial among rat-keepers as to whether or not cat/kitten shampoos are ok. Use them if you will.

I've used dog shampoo on my cats before and other than the fact that they now bark like crazy whenever someone knocks on the door I've had no problems.

Sorry bad joke. I think it would be fine.
Just keep the cage clean. Maybe you need to use a different litter. Rats don't normally smell bad unless the nest does.

Of course their poop and pee smell, but if you keep the cage clean the rat should be okay.

Yes you can wash the rat with puppy shampoo, baby shampoo, or other gentle cleaner; but I wouldn't do it too often; it might become irritating.
Well im not sure about your type of shampoo but i would say if you dont know for sure if u can use it then to use something els because you never know if it really is

    Better safe than sorry

    kealty
You have a RAT?? Ok,... that's pretty normal. So anyway i think it might be ok to use dog shampoo. Cauz i don't think theres such a thing as rat shampoo. .....

    GOOD LUCK WITHE EVERYTHING
I had a rat named Roo who was allergic to everything and had awfull dandruff from the allergy--the vet suggested Johnson's baby shampoo for humans to wash away the skin. It didnt work all that well. Dog shampoo might be too harsh.
Generally yes. My vet actually prescribed a dogs medicated shampoo for my ratty. Are they pretty oily? I used to use a dishwashing soap on him (BE CAREFUL AROUND NOSE AND EYES) and then a tearless baby shampoo. Rats are always going to be kind of stinky, but these ideas should help.

Oh and for all the users out there insulting this gal for having rats, do your research!! A study was done on the best animals for kids and rats are the number one! They are so smart, go potty in one area of their cage, are trainable, rarely bite, give kisses, and truly luv their owners. Rats rock!!
I have many years experience with rats and I can honestly say that the best thing to use to wash them if they get smelly (which they shouldnt be getting THAT smelly if they are being taken care of properly) is Dawn Dishwashing liquid. It doesnt irritate their skin, and leaves them clean and non-smelly. The only thing is, as with any shampoo dont get it in their eyes, nose mouth or ears :)
I use a kitten shampoo on my rats. It's a lot milder than other shampoos and doesn't burn their skin.

My boys only get a bath if they are really dirty, most times they clean themselves. If your rats are males, you can expect a musky type odour but not a nasty stink.

One Sexy Jeep Girl ... great joke. It made me laugh.
NO if you have to use something other than the rodents shampoo try a baby shampoo or puppy and kitten shamppo.
Rodent shampoo?! They have everything nowadays...
No, but you can wash your dog with rat shampoo. (Just remember: lather, rinse, repeat.) Seriously. You shampoo your rats?

Can I wash my kitten in dog shampoo?

My kitten is 9 weeks old. The shampoo i have isn't flea shampoo, its by Hartz. Aromatherapy, refreshing. Conditioning shampoo with essentail oils for dogs. I know i probably could use flea shampoo for a dog on him. But i wasn't sure about this. Can I wash my kitten in dog shampoo?
The best thing for you kitten is an all natural shampoo. Read the ingredients on the Hartz products and if there are names like sodium laurel sulfate or anything like that, dont use it. Your best bet is a baby shampoo from the health food store, something without ANY chemicals in it. There are natural products at some smaller pet stores now too. The larger chains usually only carry the big name companies like Hartz which usually all have harmful chemicals. Can I wash my kitten in dog shampoo?
    uhhh dont
Just as most people said on this post, better not.

If dog shampoo is too strong for puppies, then it has to be for a tiny little kitten, too!

Maybe a little baby lotion or something, until you get some kitten shampoo? :-)

Wish I could see your kitten, I love them. Ours didn't know what to with the litter box either. One day while we cleaned it out, he kept watching us and seemed quite miffed we were messing in it!

From that day on, he used the litterbox with no problem. :-)

So until then, got lots of cute pics of him playing in there! heeheee :-)
I wouldn't use the Hartz dog shampoo on a dog!

Please don't use this shampoo on your kitten. If you must bathe the kitten, use a baby shampoo. It is mild, gentle and won't sting his eyes if you accidently get shampoo in them. Plus it won't dry his skin out.

I used baby shampoo on kittens as young as 12-15 days old. They were orphaned and flea infested. I had no problems with using the baby shampoo. I had to bathe them every 2 to 3 days and their skin never dried out.

If I may give you a little hint. Before you bathe the kitten, get a soft washcloth and wet it with warm water only and use that to wash the kitten's face, ears, chin and back of the head. This way you don't have to run water over his face and he won't be as frightened.

    Purrs and Good Luck.
Why can't you just buy some cat shampoo?
Your kitten is too little. I think it is not worth the risk of making him sick. Go with a gentle people shampoo instead. Most kittens are clean as can be without baths. they have a built in cleaning mechanism in their glands or something. My cats havent had a bath in years and they always smell good its amazing how it works.
Hi...first I must tell you that the flea shampoos in the store do not work...the only thing that works against fleas is FRONTLINE..get it at your vet..it's not expensive...what happens is the frontline gets in their bloodstream and when the fleas bite them they (the fleas) digest the frontline and die....it works for a good month or so...i have 5 cats of my own and one of them i rescued was infested with fleas and gave it to my others and my 2 dogs..what a mess ...frontline i'm telling you, I have not had another problem since and that was a year and a 1/2 ago.... shampoos and dips only mask the problem they don't take care of it...good luck

What shampoo and conditioner has a smell that lasts?

i use herbal essence and my hair smells good for like 3 hours and then the smell fades away.

I want a shampoo and conditioner where the smell lasts.

'Head and shoulder smooth and silky'

    it smells awesome

it is not like a fruity or floral smell, but it smells amazing

i washed my hair like two days ago and it still smells awesomeWhat shampoo and conditioner has a smell that lasts?
many people don't recomend this trick, but i do it and it has worked for me for a verryyy long time and my hair is super healthy..this is what i do; when my hair is wet i put in my hair smoothing cream and then while it's still damp i spray my hair with my the perfume i;m going to wear that day then blow dry my hair %26amp;style, and my hair smells good all day. i don't recommend that you use body spray cause that smell won't last, use a concetratred perfume :) good luck

    %26lt;3
D; I have Herbal Essence too. It never lasted... I'd recommend taking a shower in the morning... I have V05... (If you buy one, don't get lavender, it doesn't last what-so-ever) I have Suave too. I love the smell of the coconut one.
Try the one at Victoria's Secret called So Sexy. It smells really good. You could also try Pantene, but if your hair tends to get oily, don't use it, because it makes your hair have oils in it.
Coconut shampoo and conditioner smells really good

or most of the herbal essences.

also after blow dry spray a little bit of perfume in your hair a few inches away
if you put your hair up in anyway for like an hour or too after you shampooed and conditioned it the smell should last if you use Sunsilk. I use it and it works wonders!

  • Does shampoo choice (and other hair care products) really matter that much for hair styling?

I recently told my sisters that i use white rain or sauve (whatever is cheaper at the time), and they looked at me like i was stupid. i can't see spending $10 a bottle on shampoo, but then again, i am very much a tomboy, even as an adult, and don't really care about hair. And am i supposed to be using conditioner every time i wash it, too? Will it REALLY make that much of a difference in styling my hair?Does shampoo choice (and other hair care products) really matter that much for hair styling?
I think you should Educate you self about products chemicals, I will like you to read this sides..

Try to used ';Nexxus'; or any natural shampoo...Does shampoo choice (and other hair care products) really matter that much for hair styling?
yes and yes. I have tried many shampoos and conditioners over the many years of looking after my hair and found that I can only use certain ones because they make my hair more managable and shiny. I have tried differrent hairsprays and mouse and gels as well and found that some of them create flakes or dandruff looking stuff. So I personally choose what works for me. If suave works for you, GO for it.
I know personally i need to use a conditioner everytime because my hair is just so thick and can't be combed through anyother way. If you're hair is fine using those products than it's not that big of a deal at all. The people who use the really expensive stuff are those who really care about their hair or color it alot and need some health back in it.
Some shampoos (especially Suave) coat your hair with a wax-like substance that just builds up on your hair and may even weigh it down. I think the line of Dove styling products, shampoos and conditioners is worth the extra couple of dollars. If you feel like your hair has some sort of build up on it or it just looks dull....You can clean it with baking soda. I know it sounds weird but it works. You take some baking soda and make a paste with it (baking soda and water) and wash your hair with it. It will clean anything that has built up on your hair (like chlorine, hair spray, or other styling products).

    I hope this helps.
    I personally hate 'expensive' conditioners.

They coat your hair with silicone stuff which eventually leaves you with heaps of buildup.

The shampoos are alright, but god, I HATE those conditioners!

Buying the cheap ones are fine, I do most of the time.

Everyone now'a'days just thinks that the more expensive the product is, the better it will be.

    Its all lies.

    =D

EDIT : dove sucks, cause it contains so much moisturiser it just makes your hair greasy.
you definitely need the conditioner more than the shampoo. You could get away with shampooing every other day but you almost daily need to condition it. Even if it is a leave in variety that you just spray on and ';go';. I personally find that more expensive brands work better for my hair. I have extremely thick and wavy hair and I like a smooth sleek style and the best conditioners and shampoos I have found for myself have been Frederick Fekkai %26amp; Jonathan Hair product. That is just me. Everyone's hair is different. If you have dry hair get a shampoo and conditioner specifically for dry hair. Or if your hair is normal then just get a normal balance for hair. Honestly, if you want to try to step it up and buy a little better product I would start with Pantene, its a little more expensive and their products smell better, work well and are reasonably priced.

also for ';styling'; its not much of the shampoo that is the difference but the product. Product means (styling cream, mousse, pomade and items along that nature.) If you have extremely thick curly hair you would want to use a serum to straighten it and prefent the frizzies or use it to activate the curl a little better and make them more pronounced.

What shampoo will work best to get rid of my puppy's dandruff?

11 week-old beagleWhat shampoo will work best to get rid of my puppy's dandruff?
poor diet, inadequate grooming and Overbathing will cause dandruff... try a diet change first to a premium dry kibbleWhat shampoo will work best to get rid of my puppy's dandruff?
Try some medicated puppy shampoo - - - puppy has dry skin and this will help.
Puppies generally have dandruff. If it is dandruff, it will go away with time. However, you can use head and shoulders on your puppy (just be careful not to get it in his/her eyes).
    head and shoulders
Take it to a vet. It could be anything from just bad skin to being an infection of some kind
First off you dont want to wash your puppy very often. That will dry out their skin even worse. Try a different dog food. Maybe some wet food instead of dry food. Not sure what you are using. You can also buy food made of lamb meat instead of chicken. Lamb naturally has more oil in it which will help your dogs coat. It doesnt cost any more you just need to find it. That is all I feed my lab and I always get comments on how nice his coat is from other dog owners. Try giving your dog the skin of chicken when you eat dinner. That has alot of grease and oil in it.
Try the dog shampoo with vitamin e and aloe and or oatmeal shampoo. You can use regular oatmeal mix to bath it. mix it will water and get is slopped up and use it. The oatmeal shampoo helps with the dry skin which causes dandruff. My dog was like that when i got her and i got that oatmeal shampoo at walmart and have been using it ever since and its all gone. no problem

my bofriend uses this lavender shampoo that he claims is really good. i feel it strips your hair and isnt good for you. does anyone know if it is or not?Is shampoo that leaves your hair hard good for you?
No - a shampoo that strips oils from your hair that much isn't good; it will over dry your hair leaving it prone to split ends %26amp; frizzies.

However, a given shampoo formula can work wonders for one person and not work at all for another.

  • How did people wash their hair before shampoo was invented?

I believe soap was used to wash hair.

    Confirmed:

During the early stages of shampoo, English hair stylists boiled soap in water and added herbs to give the hair health and fragrance. Kasey Hebert was the first known maker of shampoo, and the origin is currently attributed to him. He sold his first shampoo, ';Shaempoo'; in the streets of his home, London, England.

In the old days, traditionally shampoo is made from rice husk and rice straw (merang). The husks and straws are burned into ash, and the ashes (which have alkaline properties) are mixed with water to form lather. The ashes and lather are scrubbed into the hair. However, this makes the hair dry. Therefore, after shampooing, Indonesians apply coconut oil to remoisten the hair. (See: Kompas - In Indonesian).

Originally soap and shampoo were very similar products; both were often made from surfactants, a type of detergent. Shampoo became the logical evolution of personal hygiene products, and targeted the specific needs of hair and not the body in general. Through out the course of the 20th century a number of specifically designed shampoos were released that gently and effectively cleaned a variety of different hair types. Now, synthetic surfactants are primarily used in shampoo. How did people wash their hair before shampoo was invented?
One way to make shampoo is through the process of saponification where they take a fat or oil and turn it into soap. The native americans used animal fat to make soap, so did some europeans. But that was changed when the invention of a seed presser that expels oils out of seeds such as olive, avocado, coconut. But I think before shampoo was made people washed their hair with water and oil.How did people wash their hair before shampoo was invented?
Clay has been used to wash hair.

The Indians have soapnut which they grind up and then mix to a paste. It is a wonderful cleanser and leaves the hair very silky.

Bonnets were traditionally worn to keep the hair clean for longer. Muslims and some Christian sects keep women's hair covered, which also helps keep it clean.
in history of fashion we were told that they shaved their heads and wore wigs because they had lice so bad that's why they started wearing fur so they could get the lice to be on the fur instead of their bodies...it was called a flea fur which was a rabbits foot then bigger pieces
Well according to my French teacher, French people did not bathe, and that's why they created cologne; so they would smell good. They also cut their hair very short so they would not get lice, hence the giant Marie Antoinette wigs.
In my aunt's time, she lived in the Philippines [she was born in 1934] and she said she washed her hair with water and a bar of soap. Before that, I'm not sure.
They didn't that's why they wore wig's at least those that could afford to do so.

The poor had to sell their hair or leave it unwashed.
In the early 50's my grandma used to wash my hair with carbolic soap, sitting in a tin bath in front of the fire!
    They just didn't wash it.

In fact there are some people now that never, ever wash their hair.

nothing they just bathed in rivers and had lice and nits(i think thats how you spell it)
soap, soap has been arond since the Roman era.

What Shampoo And Conditioner Should I Use On My Hair?

I really need help deciding what shampoo and conditioner I should use.

For shampoo I have: Suave Hummecant Shampoo, Aussie Aussome Volume, Aussie Opposites Attract Protect %26amp; Soften Shampoo, Tressemme Healthy Curls Shampoo, and Tressemme Breakage Shampoo.

For conditioner, I have Aussie Aussome Volume and BABW ( bath and body works) energizing conditioner.

What shampoo and conditioner should I use on my hair? What Shampoo And Conditioner Should I Use On My Hair?
You should use whatever you need for your style of hair. I use pantene but I use sleek or curls depending on what style I'm going for that day. I used to use biolage but I found pantene works just as well. So try out different kinds and see what YOU like best. Tell us more about your hair. What are you trying to achieve? What Shampoo And Conditioner Should I Use On My Hair?
Well, you shouldn't use different shampoos and conditioners, they don't work as well together. I would use aussie volume for shampoo and conditioner. and if the other shampoo bottles are full or close to it, buy the matching conditioner to use it up. and then after you've used them all up, buy matching shampoo's and conditioners, they work better for your hair and you won't have to take the time to decide with shampoo would work better with this conditioner.

Good luck and I hope I helped!
Pick one brand/system and stick to it for a while! They are designed to work together. So if you have, say, frizzy hair like me, you should use a system that is designed to control frizz and make it smooth. I use the Garnier Fructisse Sleek%26amp;Shine system and it is like a miracle for my hair. Yes, it's fun to try different things, but your hair doesn't always agree with change...Hope that helps!
First off, don't use one brand of shampoo and then a different brand of conditioner. That doesn't help. I say use the Aussie Aussome Volume Shampoo and Conditioner. I love Aussie.
Aussie Opposites Attract shampoo and Aussie Volume conditioner.
    I use aussie
I really like Biolage it makes my hair soft, shiney and full of volume

What shampoo can make hair grow a lot faster???

I need a good shampoo that can make my hair grow faster. any suggestions? if so please tell me where i can get it and how long it usually takes for it to be noticable! thanks! =]What shampoo can make hair grow a lot faster???
unfortunately there are not any shampoos that will grow hair. you need a high intake of vitamin e often times found in healthy fats such as olive oil, peanut oil, and flax seed oil-try them on salads. this will promote hair growth and keep it strong. there are some shampoos that stimulate the scalp that can also help with hair growth, one is called so long by redken, and another that i have heard good things about but have not used it myself is called peppa it is said to tingle a little as it contains hot peppers. both are professional products, try a local salon. there is also a hair vitamin that i have a few clients who talk about it, and i have noticed a difference in there length, it is called the hair vitamin, and i am told you can find it at wal mart. there is also an old wives tail about having your haircut on a full moon that will cause your hair to grow faster. Good luck with all this. What shampoo can make hair grow a lot faster???
No shampoo makes your hair grow faster so don't believe the hype if they advertise it. Take a good multi-vitamin every day and when you shampoo your hair, massage your scalp really well. It causes the blood flow to increase to your hair folicules and that is what makes your hair grow!!
im not sure how long ur hair is but i know a sure way to make ur hair grow faster within 2 weeks...have ur hair platted or twisted..i did mine like that n my hair grew out in 2 weeks.
NO SHAMPOO WILL MAKE YOUR HAIR GROW!

the rate at which your hair grows is due to your genetics and how healthy you are
One of the best shampoos I've used to grow out my hair was Garnier Fructris shampoo and conditioner in ';Long and Strong'; I saw results in like a month in a half!! Never try those fake hair shampoos behind those magazines because you never know if your hairs gonna fall out!
They're all wrong. I use Grow 37 shampoo and conditioner and my hair grows 1 inch every week. (really - it's great.) Go to fasterhairgrowth.com and order it and to read reviews from other people who use it. I was skeptical at first too, but it actually works.
Well, it won't make your hair *grow* longer, but it will give it that appearance and help you keep what you have if you use any formula that says ';Anti-Breakage';. Garnier makes one and you can get it at Wal Mart. It is specifically labeled for long hair. By not letting the ends break, it keeps what you have so it gives you a chance to have your hair grow out and add to it.
Mane and Tail is suppossed to help your hair grow also try taking prenatal vitamins they are good for your hair and nails even if you aren't pregnant.
You need to stimulate your scalp with your fingertips with the help of a good oil to increase the circulation of blood to the hair follicles to promote hair growth. You need a shampoo with vitamins to help your hair to grow, but messaging the scalp is the best method.
none your hairs made out of dead cells, just take care of it
Shampoo can't make your hair grow faster. Hair grows because of nutrients within the body. You need to take Vitamins like Niacin or prenatal pills to make your hair grow faster.
Look at a product called NISIM - they have a product that speeds up hair growth.
Your hair %26amp; nails are made up of protein.

Protein can be found in beans, meat, eggs, yogurt and milk.

Take a good multivitamin each day and keep that up.

Comb your hair carefully if it's wet.

    It will grow nicely. :)
Actually if you brush your hair daily and long enough to stimulate the folicles, you can accelerate hair growth. Ask any licensed beautician.
No shampoo will make it grow faster. Nioxin will help thicken it.. But I recommend a trim every six weeks.. Also take Multi Vitamin like Hair, Skin, and Nails.. It may help. You will notice vitamin will work within a month.

Its a myth that horse shampoo makes your hair grow, but nothing makes your hair go. Make sure your hair is healthy, and you give your hair time. Hair grows 4-6 inches a year:))))
Hair just grows about a half an inch a month regardless of what you use to wash or condition it.Nothing makes it grow or grow faster, sorry
I believe that horse shampoo works. it might not make your hair grow faster but it will keep it from breaking... so the growth you have will be more worthwhile

Does herbal essence dangerously pin straight shampoo really work? and how long for it to start working?

depends. If your hair is naturally straight it will work. it will slightly straighten it. not to much. it will stay for about 10 hours.

It'll start working (if it does) as soon as you dry your hair and brush it out. if your hair is curly get the curl shampoo instead. it'll work better for that type of hair. It slows the loss of color, it won't take time.Does the ';John Freida sheer blonde'; shampoo and conditioner actually work? How long does it take?
I use the sheer blonde high lights shampoo for darker blonde hair. I'm pretty sure it ';brings out your highlights'; by cleaning your hair like other shampoos to get rid of dirt and grime. It is non color depositing, so it won't change your hair color, which most likely means it will not be a process that takes time.

Could it be possible that Redken shampoo made my hair stop growing?

I used Redken for like 5 months and my hair basically barely grew at all, but once I stopped using it, it seems like my hair has suddenly gotten a lot longer......redken is so expensive, i thought it'd be good, but is it really bad for your hair or something?

What kind of shampoo does not limit your hair's growth?Could it be possible that Redken shampoo made my hair stop growing?
There probably isnt a single shampoo that will make your hair stop growing. Factors that may stop your hair from growing are diet, stress, genetics, and the overall healthy of your hair. Switch from redken to the DAVINES Momo Moisturizing Shampoo and Conditioner this product will make your healthy, moisturized, and prevent breakage and split ends. To purchase visit http://www.kristybeauty.com Could it be possible that Redken shampoo made my hair stop growing?
im not sure if shampoos limit your hair growth. i heard and used products that makes them softer, gently, etc. but it could be your imagination, eating habits, stress. sometimes redken might not be the best for you but don't switch to cheap shampoo. you'll soon regret it in the future
I don't think it could change your hair's growth.

But if you don't like it that much, stop using it.

I too have my hair tinted a redish brown base. Also my hair stylist told me that hot water will fade your color just like hot water fades your clothes in the washer, so to get the most out of your hair color...she recommends that you wash with a shampoo and conditioner made for colored hair and then use just warm (not cold but, not on the hot side either) water to wash it with.

I would say no more than 3 times a week. Maybe ask your doctor for a prescription shampoo. And if it is too bad comb salt through your hair and it will take the flakes out.

I think sun silk is really good. But you also have to wash your hair everyday and use sun silk conditioner too.

does it work? do you need extra volumizing products to give your hair more body? if so which ones would you recommend?Who has used pantene full and thick shampoo?
I haven't tried Pantene, but if you want something comparable in price Sunsilk Daring Volume Shampoo works very well to give body and volume to hair. Something that just came out that sounds promising is John Frieda Luxurious Volume, it is also comparable in price to Pantene and Sunsilk.

And is it ok if I leave in conditioner for an hour?Do you use conditioner every day and shampoo every other day?
Yes, i use conditioner everyday otherwise my hair turns out gross, and i shampoo it like every other day, some kind of time frame like that.

If i shampoo it too much my hair gets really dried out and gross.

If u leave it in for an hour and rinse it? Sure

If u leave it in and don't rinse, i suggest u only use a little bit then.Do you use conditioner every day and shampoo every other day?
I use them both at the same time. Shampoo removes the natural oils from your hair, while conditioner helps restore them. But you are doing the right thing using shampoo every other day, that makes since, because the natural oils that come from your hair make your hair healthy. Instead of leaving in your conditioner for one hour, you might just want to think about buying a leave- in conditioner, you don't wash it out, it dries with your hair.

I use Aussie Hair Insurance, Leave in conditioner! Amazing stuff right there, leaves your hair soft, shiny, and smooth. No tangles, no nothing.

    -1/4 cup of hot water

    -1/2 tsp of olive oil

    -2 tablespoons of glycerine (optional)

-5 drops of essential oil (optional)

1.) Dissolve the soap in the hot water.

2.) Stir in the olive oil. You can substitute for another vegetable oil if you want, but olive oil is generally accepted as healthy for skin and hair.

i use to have beautiful curls but decided to straighten it day after day and now it doesnt curly anymore. ive tried using shampoos that enhance curls and stuff but i dont get any resultsHow long do i have to use a shampoo for it to do what it claims it does?
Since you have straightened your hair alot, your hair has changed to a straighter texture. You should try not straightening it so much and let it grow out, it will go back to its curly texture eventually. How long do i have to use a shampoo for it to do what it claims it does?
try either perming it, or use a curling iron on it. That may help bring the curl back.

Is it true that it is bad to shampoo your hair everyday?

This question has been a cause of debate among many of my friends. Can anyone give an expect opinion on this subject? I have long been looking for an answer for this question. And yes, I do shampoo everyday...Is it true that it is bad to shampoo your hair everyday?
noooIs it true that it is bad to shampoo your hair everyday?
Read a book by Philip Kingsley. He is a trichologist, someone who specializes not in hair style, but in the biology of hair growth and health. He suggests that everyone should wash their hair every day.

Many stylists will argue. Ask what scientific background they have before automatically believing them.
use a shampoo that is for daily washing.
If you have very short hair, or your hair is very oily, it is ok to shampoo every day. Otherwise, every other day or once every three days is plenty- this allows your scalps natural oils to distribute thru the hair, protecting the hair and making it shiny. Too frequent shampooing can lead to dry hair and a dry, itchy scalp. If you MUST shampoo every day, use a very mild formula.
it depends on what your hair is like, more expensive shampoos can dry your hair out, if you have oily hair you don't want to use conditioner not much or if at all. if you use gel or hair spray it might be a good idea to wash it everyday
Nothing wrong with that, I wash my hair everyday, sometimes twice in summer because I do sports. Just make sure that you use a shampoo for daily use and rinse well.If you use like shampoo for dandruu don't use everytime, but do a cure and then go back to the shampoo you normally use. I hear some of my friends say I wash my hair every two weeks. Good for them, but I just couldn't.
Yes.I am a hirstylist of 12 years.Your hair is like silk very delicate very soft.Your hair has natural oils in it thats makes your hair stay strong and helps fight germs of the scalp. If you shampoo your hair everyday it take the oils out with leaves your pores open.your hair needs to be slighty dirty because our hair feeds off of the dirt.I reccomend you to only wash your hair once a week.I know you might be screaming right now but yes,it's true.It will keep your hair on the right track. All my clients whom are black, white, asian, indian and mixed raced, all have beautiful long hair.Let me tell you somthing you might didn't know,Dirty hair grows faster then clean hair.Just like us we grow when we eat,so does your hair when your hair has your natrual oils and dirt to eat off of it grows from the hair vitamins it's getting.**Tip if your white use pantene products like shampoo and conditioner,if you black also use the relaxed and natural pantene products....remember only condition your hair every other wash to much conditioner adds a lot of unhealthy build-up on the hair shaft..I hope this helped you.-E
Yes. Over cleaning your hair removes the natural oils that hair needs to be healthy. It is understandable, however, if you sweat alot and you stink. It just really depends on your hair and your lifestyle.
yes it could dry out your hair
there are times that i don't shampoo everyday, i sometimes skip a day to allow the natural oils to come out..
I have heard that it is unhealthy but if you have oily hair then you do need to because my hair is oily and when i heard that it was unhelthy to shampoo everyday so i didnt for about 2 weeks but like those 2 weeks i did wash it everyother day but my hair was just nasty so i went back to washing it everyday. hope ya win becuase it stinks to loose a debet over dumb things!
yes, because it takes good oils out of your hair, and your hair becomes dry and flaky.

I bathe my dog three times a week because she has allergies and the vet asked us to bathe her. We use a medicated shampoo that you don't have to get with a prescription. It's called Douxo Seborrhea Medicated dog shampoo. That shampoo works wonders. My dog's skin is perfectly hydrated and her fur is so soft. Remember, this stuff is medicated to stop the itching from dried skin, and full of emolients.

When I used cheap shampoos, I found on Y/A that you could use Aveeno Bath Oil (in the dark, dark navy blue bottle). Apply the bath oil, rub it into the skin. Rinse off 75% of it.

It sorta worked, but she had the allergies, so it wasn't perfect. Plus it's expensive. When you add the cost of Aveeno to buying the shampoo, you're better off buying the Douxo. I buy the Duoxo shampoo because she's worth it. I don't want her to suffer. Price shop online. Here it is at Amazon:

I'd buy it if I were you. It's not that expensive. Cheap shampoos still cost $8.Where can i find some cheap dog/puppy shampoo for dry or itchy skin%26gt;%26gt;details%26lt;%26lt;?
Shampoo is not going to fix your dog's dry itchy skin.

He has that for several reasons, chief of which is the fact that you shampoo him WAY, WAY TOO OFTEN.

Once or twice a month is all you should ever wash a dog, you are literally stripping all the oil from his skin and fur - that's why he is so dry. Stop it before the poor guy flakes and scratches himself to death, 3 times a week is downright animal abuse.

Where did you ever think you could do this? He's a living being, not a shirt.

The other important thing is to feed him good dry kibble like Canidae. 2 of my dogs have dry skin and since I started feeding Canida Chicken and Rice, which is geared towards skin good health, they look great and have no more skin problems. Supermarket junk is mostly corn meal (read the ingredients), that's cattle feed, not nutrition for dogs.

Quit washing your dog so much - and when you do, use something good, not something cheap., HyLite is very good, used by a lot of show people and trainers, it leaves a dog's coat very clean but is not detergent based so doesn't strip the oil.

Again - stop washing that dog to death.
I would agree with the other answerers-3 times a week is alot to wash a dog, try brushing him through really well instead-this should get alot of the dirt out. I have a Lhasa Apso, which is similar to a Shih Tzu and I always use Johnson's Baby Shampoo on him or Boots Tea Tree Shampoo (and conditioner if his coat has dried out). I have never had any problems with them, the breeder told us to use the baby shampoo when he was a puppy and we just carried on. From experience, I have found that dog shampoos dry out the coat and the skin and are expensive so I hope this helps.
3 times a week is way too much to be washing any dog, 3 times a month is more acceptable but still a little too much. Try like every two weeks if you can. And also, try an oatmeal shampoo, my dog has sensitive skin and I wash him with this and he is fine. But I don't think the shampoo is the problem... it's the amount of baths the dog is getting. If he is dirty but just had a bath recently, try just wiping him off with a wet cloth or something.
I groom yorkies that go outside, play in the snow and whatever eles is out there. We bath them once a week! That's it. If he's that dirty then maybe just a dry bath towels. Wipe him down once in a while and brush him. For dry and itchy skin try a skin and coat supplement. Grizzly Salmon Oil or California Natural Skin and Coat. It works awsome. Also a food that has Omega 3 and 6. Herring and Sweet Potato. California Natural makes it and Wellness. Canidea is a good one too. Chicken Soup for Dogs. Good luck!
His skin is dry and itchy because you are bathing him too much, and worse yet, using some cheap shampoo!

Dogs should not be bathed more than twice a month from what I've been reading. Check with your vet to make sure you're not irritating his skin with the shampoo you are using, and definitely stop bathing him so much.
It is very bad for a dogs skin to be bathed more than once a month. It causes their skin to crack, flake, and get very irritated. I wouldnt bathe him for about a month, it should clear up. If not, get some good conditioning puppy shampoo, you are going to have to spend some extra money. You get what you pay for. Good luck!
Well like the other person said, your washing your poor dog way to much. That is why your dog has dry skin. Cut down on the baths. I'm not a dog bathing expert, but I would try bathing your dog once every two weeks or three weeks, but i'm not sure. Good luck!
he is itchy because his skin isn't made for such washing. Try Dawn Dish Soap, my vet told me to try it, it also kills fleas and its cheap. Good luck
its not good for your dog to be washed 3 times a week. try removing him from the dirty environment instead. your poor dog is being tortured with dry skin :(
Washing him to much is what is not working. It is drying him out. Only wash him once every one to three months.
