Wow.. It is similar to a vaccum except is shoots out soap and water to clean the carpet then sucks it back up. Well, yes it makes the carpet wet. You can rent them for about $30 or buy one starting around $80.What is a rug shampoo machine?have you used it?
I have 2 a small portable one I use for spills etc and a larger one I use to do the whole house. Yes they vacuum up. They leave the floor damp not wet but I don't use the large one when it is humid. They do a good job and are reasonably priced. Similar to vacuum cleaners. Both of mine are Bissell.
You can usually rent them at big supermarkets.

They do wet the floor but the suction dries it.
its pretty effective, you can rent one for about 30 buck or buy one around 60, yes it shoots the shampoo water on the floor and brushes and vacuums the floor, yes carpets is damp afterwards
