Are you supposed to scratch your scalp when you shampoo?

is it bad to scratch to clean out the dirt and oil, or should i just massage with my fingertips to do the job? Or it doesnt matter? Are you supposed to scratch your scalp when you shampoo?
Well, that's what soap is for - to clean out the dirt and oil. Dirt and oil doesn't get stuck in your scalp. There's no need to scratch your scalp, just lather with your finger tips and the shampoo will do the rest. Are you supposed to scratch your scalp when you shampoo?
first of all, don't use too much shampoo. massage your scalp and rinse thoroughly after. massage your scalp using fingers and not fingernails.
I massage firmly with my fingertips. I think scratching could cause your scalp to become irritated...same as if you scratched your face or your arm too hard.
yea scratch or youll get dandrif
scratching your scalp causes flakes(dandruff). It lifts the dead skin on your scalp into your hair. Your best bet would be to just massage your scalp with your fingertips thoroughly. If you already have the problem of flakes..use head %26amp; shoulders and let it sit for about 3 minutes..you'll see a difference!
Don't scratch, massage your scalp. Scratching will just irritate it. Massage is really good for your scalp because it helps the blood circulate.
massage with fingertips all over you scalp

scratch will make your scalp to be weak

and sooner u might lost hair

so pls dont!
I dont think it really matters i do both. lol
scratching your head to get rid of the dirt and oil and plus you wouldnt want your scalp to be smelly! as long as your not literally clawing your head off. ^__^
Yes..it doesn't matter at all
i do both sometimes i dont think its dangerous or anything.
